Kathmandu — Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah (Balen), returned to Kathmandu without reaching Jhapa, where he is contesting the election.

After casting his vote at the Annapurna English School polling center in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, he boarded a helicopter bound for Jhapa‑5, his electoral constituency. However, before landing, the flight was turned back to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Airport officials confirmed that the helicopter returned to Kathmandu shortly after departing, though the precise reason for the return was not officially announced.
