Gyanendra Shahi Elected from Jumla

Kathmandu — Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate Gyanendra Shahi has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Jumla.

According to the vote count completed on Saturday, Shahi won the seat with 14,816 votes. His closest rival, Naresh Bhandari of the CPN-UML, received 11,635 votes.

Similarly, Deep Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Congress secured 7,143 votes, while Shantilal Mahat of the Nepal Communist Party received 4,518 votes.

While candidates of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) were winning seats across the country, the party’s candidate Binita Kathayat in Jumla failed to secure enough votes and lost her deposit.
