‘The Enthusiasm Seen in the Election Underscores Commitment to Democracy,’ Says Gagan Thapa

Kathmandu — Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa said that the enthusiastic participation of voters in Thursday’s House of Representatives election reaffirmed the Nepali people’s deeply rooted commitment to democracy.

In a statement issued after voting concluded, Thapa expressed gratitude to all citizens who exercised their right to vote, saying that their active participation not only confirmed their strong belief in the democratic system but also made political parties and the future government more accountable to public expectations.

He said, “The nationwide enthusiasm and active participation of voters in the House of Representatives election once again strongly expressed Nepalis’ loyalty and unwavering commitment to democracy.”

Thapa thanked the government and the Election Commission for successfully conducting the election in a peaceful environment despite some isolated incidents. He also conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the election officials and all security personnel who worked around the clock to make the election successful.
