In Janakpurdham, leaders and cadres of the CPN-UML have staged a sit-in demanding that Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav be allowed to do his work.

While a coalition of seven parties continues its protest in front of the Madhesh Bhawan, calling the appointment of CM Yadav unconstitutional, the UML today has also joined in the demonstration.

The UML has launched a sit-in at Janak Chok in Janakpurdham, demanding that the constitutionally appointed Chief Minister be permitted to perform his duties and that the Supreme Court be respected. With slogans like “Let the Chief Minister work, protect the constitution,” youth have begun the protest.

Baliram Yadav, chairman of UML in Mahottari, accused the Madhesh-centered parties of putting federalism at risk. He claimed that in the name of defending the constitution and federalism, these parties were now trying to create anarchy.

Meanwhile, the seven parties including Nepali Congress remain in a peaceful sit-in in front of the gate of Madhesh Bhawan.
