Truck hits and kills one in Banepa; locals burn the truck

On the Araniko Highway in Banepa this morning at around 8:45, a tipper truck collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of one person.

According to police, the identity of the person who died in the accident is yet to be confirmed. After the crash, local residents became enraged.

Angered by the incident, locals set the tipper truck on fire, and the family of the deceased have taken to the streets demanding appropriate compensation.

Because of the protest, traffic on the highway has been blocked. A large number of police have been deployed to bring the situation under control.

To disperse the crowd, police fired tear gas. The situation remains tense at this time.
