Chitwan — Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has said that time is short for the general convention.

Speaking with journalists today, he said that at least three months would be needed to hold the convention.

Koirala said, “Time is short. If the convention cannot happen in Poush, then it will be after the election.” He added that, although the party had decided to hold it in Poush, nothing is yet finalized whether it will happen or not.

Still, he said, everyone needs to prepare for the convention. He added that even the younger generation (Gen-Z) must be included and brought into the convention.

Regarding candidacy for the convention, he said: “I had intended to contest for chairperson. There is elder brother Shekhar. He is also interested. Talks are underway. One of the two of us will stand.”
