Kathmandu – Noting the enthusiasm and pressure seen in voter list registration, Prime Minister Sushila Karki has urged the commission to extend the registration deadline.

In a telephone conversation with Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari on Friday afternoon, the Prime Minister requested an extension.

Bhandari informed the Prime Minister that the commission is positive about an extension and that the deadline could be extended by five days.

With the registration of names in the voter list now possible through online submission based on National ID details, high pressure has been observed since Thursday.
