T20 World Cup: West Indies Dominate Nepal, Eliminating Himalayan Underdogs Before Final Match

After losing the toss and choosing to bat first, Nepal set a modest target of 134, which the West Indies chased down with nine wickets in hand and 28 balls to spare. With the nine-wicket defeat, Nepal remains winless in this World Cup.

In West Indies’ victory, captain Shai Hope played an unbeaten 61, while Shimron Hetmyer contributed an unbeaten 46; the pair put on a 91-run stand for the second wicket.

Earlier, opener Brandon King scored 22 for the West Indies, and Nepal’s Nandan Yadav took one wicket. For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored with 58, hitting three fours and three sixes in 47 balls. Sompal Kami added an unbeaten 26.

West Indian bowlers Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Matthew Forde, Shamar Joseph and Roston Chase all took wickets to stifle Nepal’s batting.

With this win, West Indies sealed their place in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, while the defeated Nepal side has exited the competition.
