Kathmandu –  At the ongoing CPN-UML general convention, strong dissatisfaction has emerged within KP Sharma Oli’s camp over the formation of the leadership team.

Hard-core supporters of Oli, Rajendra Gautam and Krishna Gopal Shrestha, have left Oli’s faction.

After Gautam, who had put forward a claim for the post of secretary, was not given a ticket by Oli, he has decided to run as an independent candidate.

Similarly, Krishnagopal Shrestha, who also sought the secretary post, has left Oli’s faction and is now contesting from the Ishwar Pokhrel group.

When Shankar Pokhrel became the candidate for general secretary from Oli’s side, another aspirant, Pradeep Gyawali, became dissatisfied.

An UML leader said that Vishnu Paudel is trying to calm him down

Another aspirant for the general secretary post, Prithvi Subba Gurung, is also unhappy after not receiving a ticket.

Two of Oli’s close young leaders, Ramkumari Jhakri and Surya Thapa, also did not make it into the leadership team.

Meanwhile, Surendra Pandey has filed his candidacy for general secretary from the Ishwar Pokhrel group.
