RPP surges ahead, Kamal Thapa concedes defeat in Makwanpur-1
Kathmandu: In a steady and surprise climb, Dipak Bahadur Singh of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party established lead over his nearest Nepali Congress rival Mahalakshmi Deena over 900 votes.
Singh has so far secured 25,148 votes against 24,212 polled by Upadhyay. Interestingly, Kamal Thapa, Chairman of the RPP-Nepal who is contesting as UML candidate conceded defeat when the counting was still on.
‘I gladly accept the defeat, and thank UML for allotting me its election symbol,” Thapa said.
Thapa had secured 23,694 votes when he conceded his defeat.
