Kathmandu – Leaders Ravi Lamichhane of RSP, Kulman Ghising of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, and Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah are close to reaching an agreement on moving forward together in future politics.

According to close sources, after RSP Chairperson Lamichhane was released from jail, efforts to build an alternative political force have reached a meaningful stage.

Ghising and Balen are engaging in intensive discussions about joining the RSP as a base, taking stakes in the party, and recommending candidates for the proportional representation list by the 14th.

Although it was said that a formal written agreement might be concluded on Friday, a concrete agreement is now expected on Saturday as the bilateral and trilateral discussions were not completed.

They held extensive discussions at various levels on Friday.

According to sources, a draft agreement has been prepared in which RSP would receive 40% representation, with Kulman and Balen getting 25% each, and the remaining 10% allotted to the Gen Z group. There are also talks about Lamichhane leading the unified party, with Ghising and Balen serving as second tier leaders.

They have agreed to adopt the RSP’s election symbol, the bell.

Following the Gen Z movement and growing public disillusionment with old parties, Lamichhane, Balen, and Ghising are preparing to collaborate as an alternative force. RSP’s Shishir Khanal and Balen’s Kumar Byanjankar are said to be busy finalizing the agreement draft, according to sources.
