Pro-General Convention Faction Holds Press Conference Ahead of Congress Performance Committee Meeting

Kathmandu – Before the Congress Central Performance Committee meeting called for 3:00 PM today, the pro-general convention group is holding a special press conference.

This morning at 11:00, the group that signed for the special general convention is scheduled to hold a press conference. Central member Ajay Babu Sivakoti said the press conference will take place at the contact office of General Secretary Gagan Thapa in Anamnagar.

According to him, General Secretaries Thapa and Bishwprakash Sharma will not be present at today’s press conference.

On Thursday, General Secretaries Thapa and Sharma issued a statement informing that the regular convention had been postponed and that a special general convention would be held.

As the organizational faction within the Congress even opposed holding the regular convention, the other group has begun preparing for a special general convention. Because the general secretaries themselves prepared for the special general convention, controversy has arisen within the Congress.

A hall in Bhrikutimandap has already been booked for the special general convention.
