Newly Appointed Prime Minister Balen Shah Takes Oath

Kathmandu — Newly appointed Prime Minister Balendra Shah has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

He was sworn in by President Ramchandra Paudel at the President’s residence, Shital Niwas.

President Paudel had appointed Shah as Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76(1) of the Constitution of Nepal, designating him as the head of government.

Shah was elected to the House of Representatives from Jhapa-5 in the recent parliamentary elections, defeating former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli by a significant margin.
