Newly Appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Takes Oath of Office and Secrecy

The newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

On Thursday, Jitendra Prasad Sonar (also known as Sonal), a Provincial Assembly member from the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) Nepal, took the oath during a ceremony held at the Office of the Provincial Head.

Sonal took the oath in the Bhojpuri language from Provincial Head Sumitra Subedi Bhandari.

Provincial Head Bhandari appointed him as Chief Minister on Wednesday evening under Article 168(2) of the Constitution of Nepal, with the support of 56 Provincial Assembly members from five parties.
