In their second match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Nepal has set a modest target of 124 runs for Italy.

After being put in to bat first, Nepal struggled to build significant partnerships and was eventually bowled out for 123 runs with just three balls remaining in their innings.

Aarif Sheikh top-scored for the side with 27 runs, supported by captain Rohit Paudel who made 23 and Aasif Sheikh who contributed 20. Other notable contributions came from Karan KC, who remained unbeaten on 18, and Dipendra Singh Airee, who added 17.

Italy’s bowling attack was led effectively by Crishan Kalugamage, who claimed 3 wickets, while Ben Manenti took 2, and JJ Smit, Ali Hassan, and Jasprit Singh each picked up one.

For this crucial fixture, Nepal made one change to the playing XI that faced England, bringing in Lalit Rajbanshi to replace Sher Malla. Both teams are currently seeking their first win of the tournament, following Nepal’s narrow opening loss to England and Italy’s defeat against Scotland.
