Nepal Qualify for the World Cup Before Facing Oman

Nepal has successfully qualified for the T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time, even with two matches remaining. Before the match between Oman and Nepal, both teams had already secured their place in the World Cup.

On Wednesday, after the UAE defeated Samoa by 77 runs, Nepal confirmed its place in the T20 World Cup for the second consecutive and third overall time.

The T20 World Cup is set to be held next year in India and Sri Lanka, where Nepal has ensured its participation. Both Nepal and Oman remained unbeaten in the qualifiers. The match between the two today will be important in the race to become the champion of the qualifiers and head to the World Cup on a high.

In Wednesday’s match, the UAE batted first and set a massive target of 226 runs for Samoa. They scored 225 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For UAE, Alishan Sharafu played a brilliant innings of 86 runs, while Rahul Chopra scored 62 runs.

In response, Samoa could only score 148 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the full 20 overs. With the comprehensive win, the UAE also kept their hopes of World Cup qualification alive.
