Karki commission to summon Oli, Lekhak to depose on excess use of force to suppress Genz protest

Kathmandu- The Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission formed to go into use of force to suppress GenZ movement, will be issuing summons to K P Sharma Oli and Ramesh Lekhak, respectively the Prime Minister and the Home Minister when the police action to suppress anti-corruption protest by youths on September 8 killed at least 19, with 57 wounded succumbing to injuries subsequently.
Bigyan Raj Sharma, Spokesperson of the Commission told Deshsanchar that statement of  Current Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki and his predecessor Chandra Kuber  Khapung who led the force during the protest, will be recorded by tomorrow.
‘We will issue the notice to Oli and Lekhak by tomorrow, immediately after the incumbent and past IGP  finish recording their statement,’  He added.
While Oli has so far been stating that he will not appear before the commission, Lekhak who belongs to the Nepali Congress will be attending. The commission constituted in September end, will have to submit its report by the End of December.
