Kathmandu — Harkaraj Rai (Harka Sampang), chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has suggested that Home Minister Sudan Gurung resign.

Speaking to journalists at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, Sampang made the remark. Pressure has mounted on Home Minister Gurung to step down after reports surfaced of his business partnership with controversial businessman Dipak Bhatt, who has been arrested.

In this context, Sampang said it would be appropriate for the minister to resign. “We keep hearing new controversies about him all the time. It would have been better if that wasn’t the case. Now, we hear something or the other two or three times a week. I suggest that he clear the way,” he said.

Sampang also urged the government to focus on maintaining good governance.
