Kathmandu – Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has stated that the government is prioritizing the investigation into the Nirmala Pant murder case with meticulous attention.

During Thursday’s session of the House of Representatives, while responding to questions raised by lawmakers regarding the Home Ministry’s budget, he mentioned that the ministry is extremely sensitive about this case and that he is personally monitoring it with seriousness.

He noted that certain investigative processes need to be kept confidential and that it is appropriate not to disclose some information until results are obtained.

He expressed regret that such a sensitive issue as the brutal murder of a young girl has been politicized.

He said, “The ministry is sensitive about Nirmala Pant’s case. We have advanced a detailed investigation to identify the individuals involved and to put an end to the kind of politics that was played over a young girl’s body.”

Home Minister Gurung reiterated the government’s commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice and expressed hope for everyone’s cooperation to conclude the investigation.
