KATHMANDU – The government has extended the term of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led inquiry commission, formed to investigate the Gen Z protests of Bhadra 23 and 24, by an additional 20 days.

The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to grant the extension after the commission requested more time through the Ministry of Home Affairs, stating that its work is in the final stages but not yet complete.

The commission, chaired by Karki and including former AIG Bigyan Raj Sharma and legal expert Bishweshwar Prasad Bhandari, was formed by the government on Ashoj 5. Initially given a three-month mandate, the commission’s term was first extended on Poush 6.
