Kathmandu — After the Congress establishment faction disciplined him and fellow General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that the points he proposed for consensus were not harmful to the country or the party.

He questioned which of the eight points that were proposed on Wednesday morning for consensus was detrimental to the nation or the Congress.

Sharma noted that after the disciplinary action, he read those points with a smile and emphasized that both he and Gagan Thapa remain determined to transform the Congress and the country.

He also stated that the special general convention has put the country on the right path and will now deliver the right leadership.

He shared these points verbatim on his social media:

  1. To take shared ownership of the special general convention.

  2. To implement the resolutions passed at the special general convention, including amendments.

  3. That the party president should not play an active role and should not sign candidates’ nomination papers.

  4. To form a parliamentary board for selecting candidates.

  5. To enter the upcoming election united as one force.

  6. That the Nepali Congress will contest the upcoming election alone without forming an alliance with any other party.

  7. To go into the upcoming election with the Congress declaring its own prime ministerial candidate.

  8. To create a five‑member structure to coordinate and implement all of the above — consisting of the acting president, two general secretaries, and two additional leaders.
