Kathmandu — Former Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli was arrested from his residence on Saturday as police investigate his alleged role in a deadly crackdown on Gen Z-led protests last year. Authorities also detained former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in connection with the case. The arrests follow a probe panel’s recommendation to prosecute senior officials for negligence after dozens were killed during the unrest. Oli has rejected the allegations, calling his detention politically motivated, and has vowed to fight the case legally. He has been taken to a district police office for further investigation.
