Ending their consecutive losing streak, Janakpur secured their first win

Kathmandu – Defending champions Janakpur Bolts have ended their losing streak in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), claiming their first win of the season in their fifth match.

Chasing the 177‑run target set by Chitwan Rhinos, Janakpur reached the target with four wickets down and 15 balls to spare.

In Janakpur’s win, opener Maaz Sadaqat scored 63 runs, and captain Anil Sah played a 61‑run innings. Jan Nicol Loftie‑Eaton added 11 runs, Asif Sheikh contributed 18 runs, and Aditya Mahata remained unbeaten with 18 runs off 7 balls.

Earlier, Chitwan had set the 177‑run target by scoring 176/4 in 20 overs. Their innings was powered by opener Dawid Malan’s 80 and Arjun Saud’s 52, who together put up a 112‑run opening stand. Mid‑innings, captain Kushal Malla slammed an unbeaten 30 off 14 balls to reach the total.

In Janakpur’s bowling effort, Maaz Sadaqat, Anil Sah, Rupesh Singh and Jan Nicol Loftie‑Eaton took one wicket each.
