Butwal-  Bulldozers have been deployed since 10 a.m. today to clear encroached government land belonging to the High Court in Butwal. With the operation underway, the removal of huts, shops, and other temporary structures in the area has begun.

The Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City stated that the campaign to reclaim government land located north of JTC Chowk in Butwal-4 was launched at the request of the High Court. After receiving prior notice of the demolition, business owners and those who had built structures were seen early in the morning busy moving their belongings and vacating the area.

It has been reported that for years, houses, shops, and buildings belonging to various organizations had been constructed on and using the government land in that area. The sub-metropolitan city said the campaign aims to protect public property by removing encroachments.

Although there had been repeated efforts in the past to safeguard the court’s land from long-standing encroachment, they had not been effectively implemented.

This time, however, the deployment of bulldozers early in the morning has increased activity and movement in the area.
