Electoral Officers Appointed in All Seven Provinces for National Assembly Election

Kathmandu — The Election Commission has established offices and appointed election officers in all seven provinces for the National Assembly member election scheduled for Magh 11.

Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the commission has appointed district judges as election officers.

In Koshi Province, Bhimraj Prasai; in Madhesh Province, Shubhnath Puri; in Bagmati Province, Geeta Shrestha; in Gandaki Province, Himal Belwase; in Lumbini Province, Prakashraj Pandit; in Karnali Province, Deepak Dhakal; and in Sudurpaschim Province, Bhuvansingh Thapa have been appointed.

Elections will be held for 19 vacant seats starting on Falgun 20.

According to the election schedule, from Poush 19, 10:00–11:00 AM, the voter list will be published followed by claims and objections. The final voter list will be published on Poush 22, 3:00–4:00 PM.

Candidate nominations will be accepted on Poush 23, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM, and objections to nominations can be filed on Poush 24, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. Candidates can withdraw their nominations on Poush 27, 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, and the final candidate list will be published from 1:00–2:00 PM that day.

On Poush 28, 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, candidates will be assigned election symbols. Voting at designated polling centers will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
