Durga Prasai Arrested

Kathmandu – Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been arrested. Prasai, who also serves as the coordinator of the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens Protection Grand Campaign, was taken into custody by police in Pokhara.

He had alleged that supporters of the Nepali Congress’s special general convention paid NPR 5.2 billion to the Election Commission to influence results in their favor. Following that statement, the Commission wrote to police requesting action against him.

Preparations are underway to bring him from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
