Deuba to not run in Nepal’s Upcoming House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu — Sher Bahadur Deuba, Former President of the Nepali Congress and former prime minister, will not be a candidate in the upcoming House of Representatives election, according to his personal secretary, Bhanu Deuba. He has decided not to file his candidacy.

After a special general convention within the Congress, the party atmosphere has changed and a new central committee led by Gagan Thapa has been elected and officially recognised by the Election Commission. Following this development, Deuba has chosen to stay out of the electoral race.

Meanwhile, Deuba has formally announced that he will not contest this election.
