Congress’s Chandra Bhandari Emerges as a Contender for NC Chairmanship

Kathmandu — Nepali Congress leader Chandra Bhandari has publicly stated that he aspires to contest for the chairperson post at the party’s upcoming 15th General Convention. Writing a status on social media, he indicated that his ambition for the chairmanship — and his vision for the role — are both clearly determined.

However, he added that he is ready to proceed as required, keeping the interests of the party, the country, and the people at the center.

He wrote, “My aspiration for the chairperson post in Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention is clear, and my vision is just as determined!”

He said he stands ready to move forward — from zero to one hundred — in whatever form is necessary, depending on where the interest of the country, the people, democracy, and the organization stands.

He also stressed that any steps would be taken respecting the suggestions of colleagues, the demands of the time, and the political landscape.
