Commission Chair Tells PM: “We’ll Issue Letters to Summon Oli and Lekhak” Over Gen-Z Movement Inquiry

Kathmandu — Gauri Bahadur Karki, chair of the commission formed to investigate the Gen-Z protests of Bhadra 23 and 24, met with Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

He briefed Prime Minister Karki on the work done so far. According to sources, he also requested the Prime Minister to extend the commission’s term by one month.

Chair Karki informed Prime Minister Karki that statements from all administrative and security officials have been completed, and that the commission will now record statements from those at the political level and begin drafting its report. He also updated the Prime Minister on preparations to issue letters to summon former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak for statements regarding the Gen-Z movement.

Karki said the commission is preparing to call political leaders for statements starting Sunday.
