Central Zoo in Jawalakhel closed due to bird flu detection

The Central Zoo in Jawalakhel has been closed following the detection of bird flu. The National Trust for Nature Conservation issued a notice on Friday stating that the zoo will remain closed until further notice.

The notice reads, “Due to the detection of bird flu among the animals within the Central Zoo premises, we request the public to note that the zoo will be closed from today, 2083 Ashadh 5, until further notice, considering the health of the general public.”

Recently, bird flu has been detected in various parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley.
