Kathmandu — An arrest warrant has been issued against former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife.

The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to arrest Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba.

The court approved the request following an application from the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, which is probing the couple over alleged money laundering offenses.

According to sources, the Kathmandu District Court issued the arrest authorization on Tuesday.

The Deuba couple, who had traveled abroad for medical treatment before the elections held last Falgun (February–March), have not yet returned to Nepal.
