Nitish Kumar Sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister for 10th Time

Kathmandu — In Bihar, India, Nitish Kumar has taken the oath as Chief Minister for a record 10th time.

He was selected as the leader of the parliamentary party on Wednesday by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes his party Janata Dal (United) (JDU) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

On Thursday, he submitted his claim to form the government to Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and then took the oath of office and secrecy at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

Along with Nitish, Samrat Chaudhary from the BJP was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, senators from the NDA, and various state chief ministers.

Governor Khan also administered the oath to 24 ministers, including Deputy CM Vijay Sinha.

In the recent assembly elections, the NDA won a clear majority in Bihar, securing 202 out of 243 seats
