Dahal Appointed Coordinator, Nepal as Co‑coordinator of Nepali Communist Party

Kathmandu – Nepali Communist Party’s coordinator has been selected as Pushpa Kamal Dahal, while the co‑coordinator post has been filled by Madhav Kumar Nepal. The selections were made during the unity rally held at Bhrikutimandap.

According to party leaders, the announcement was made by Mahendra Ray Yadav, who declared Dahal as coordinator and Nepal as co‑coordinator. Prior to this, Dahal had served as the chair of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) and Nepal had been chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist).

The merger was announced between the Maoist Centre, the Unified Socialist, and several other left‑wing parties during a special ceremony today.

The newly unified party has adopted the interim name “Nepali Communist Party” and unveiled its electoral symbol, the “five‑pointed star”. Its guiding ideology has been stated as Marxism‑Leninism with a programme of ‘scientific socialism with Nepali characteristics’.
