Kathmandu — The Nepali Congress has decided to hold a joint discussion with provincial presidents from all seven provinces, chief ministers representing the party, and leaders of provincial parliamentary parties.

The meeting has been scheduled for Baisakh 6 at the party’s central office in Sanepa.

The discussion will focus particularly on making provincial and local governments more effective.

In addition, the party has assigned Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma the responsibility of coordinating among elected representatives at the provincial and local levels.

Similarly, the recent cabinet reshuffle in Gandaki Province will also be a key agenda of the meeting. The issue of Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey appointing ministers without prior consultation with the central leadership is expected to be discussed within the party. He had reshuffled ministers based on a power-sharing arrangement between the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML.
