Kathmandu — At the final hour of deputy speaker nominations, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to support the Labour Culture Party.

Earlier, Rastriya Prajatantra Party parliamentary leader Gyan Bahadur Shahi had claimed that the RSP would back his party. However, in a last-minute shift, the RSP withdrew its support from the RPP and instead backed the Labour Culture Party.

Accordingly, 25-year-old Labour Culture Party lawmaker Rubi Kumari Thakur is now set to become Deputy Speaker. She has also filed her candidacy for the post.

RSP lawmaker Ashok Kumar has proposed her candidacy.
