President Paudel Appoints Balen Shah as Prime Minister

Kathmandu — President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed House of Representatives member Balendra Shah (Balen) as Nepal’s Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76(1) of the Constitution.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President on Friday, Shah has been entrusted with the role of the country’s executive head following the completion of the government formation process.

The newly appointed Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy later today at the President’s residence, Shital Niwas.
