Manchester City have won the Carabao Cup title with an impressive performance against Arsenal.

In the final held at Wembley on Sunday night, City defeated Arsenal 2–0, officially ending Arsenal’s dream of a historic quadruple (four titles in a single season).

For Pep Guardiola’s side, Nico O’Reilly scored twice within four minutes in the second half to secure a convincing victory. Although City kept pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal from the start, they had to wait until the second half for goals.

Arsenal, meanwhile, opted to continue with Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal instead of their first-choice goalkeeper David Raya in this competition, but that decision proved costly.

In the 60th minute, Kepa failed to properly handle a routine cross from Rayan Cherki, allowing the ball to drop, and O’Reilly headed it into the net.

Just four minutes later, O’Reilly added another goal—again with a header—this time from a cross by Matheus Nunes, sealing City’s victory.

With this win, Guardiola became the first manager to win the EFL Cup five times. On the other hand, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s wait for a title since the 2020 FA Cup continues.
