Probe Committee to Investigate Dhading Bus Crash

Kathmandu — Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to form a committee to investigate the recent bus accident in Dhading that left at least 18 people dead and dozens injured. The decision came after a meeting on Monday involving Home Minister Om Prakash Sharma and senior officials from relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Department of Roads, representatives of the transport federation and the three security forces, who agreed to set up a panel to look into the circumstances of the crash.

The bus, en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu, plunged off the Prithvi Highway near Bhaisigauda in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality–5 early Sunday, killing 17 at the scene and one more later in hospital, authorities said.
