Nepal Election Commission Recommends Three-Day Public Holiday for House of Representatives Vote

Kathmandu — The Election Commission has recommended that the government declare a three-day public holiday for the Feb. 21 House of Representatives election. The commission has asked the government to grant holidays on Falgun 20, 21 and 22, according to spokesman and Joint Secretary Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. The government has not yet made a decision on the holiday.

In previous elections, schools were typically given three days off while other government offices got one day. This time, the commission has recommended three days off for all offices.
