Three personnel of the Armed Police Force (APF) were injured on Monday when a group of smugglers attacked them during a raid on an illegal warehouse in Birgunj Metropolitan City-10’s Adarshanagar area.

A joint team — including APF Nepal’s No. 13 Battalion from Parsa, the Birgunj Border Security Unit, and officials from the Birgunj Customs Office — were conducting a raid at the house of Madan Prasad Gupta, where clothing suspected to be stored illegally was being kept.

While seizing contraband clothing worth around Rs 500,000–700,000, the smugglers allegedly attacked the security personnel with stones and other objects.

The clash damaged one APF van and one SUV, and three APF members suffered minor injuries; their condition is reported to be stable. The seized goods are being processed to be handed over to the relevant authorities.
