T-20 World Cup: England Sets Nepal a Target of 185 to Win

In the ICC T20 World Cup, Nepal has been set a challenging target of 185 runs to win in their opening match. After winning the toss, England batted first and scored 184 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For England, Jacob Bethell scored an unbeaten 55 and captain Harry Brook also made 53, both reaching half-centuries. Bethell struck four fours and a six off 35 balls, while Brook hit four fours and three sixes off 32 deliveries. In addition, Jos Buttler contributed 26 runs and Will Jacks remained not out on 39, playing a quick innings with one four and four sixes off just 18 balls.

For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee and Nandan Yadav took two wickets each, while Lindra Sher Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed one wicket apiece.

Nepal, aiming to defeat a two-time world champion in this Group C match, will soon take the field to begin their chase. Earlier in the group’s first match, West Indies defeated Scotland.
