Kathmandu – A severe gas shortage that has persisted in the market for the past two weeks has left consumers struggling. The scarcity of Nepal Gas products in particular has reached a critical level, inflicting hardship on households.

Because gas has not been delivered from India on time, consumers are facing an acute shortage. With Nepal Gas sales centers running dry for more than a fortnight, hundreds of people carrying empty cylinders have been arriving daily at the Nepal Gas office in the Balaju Industrial Area. Even there, many customers complain that they are unable to obtain gas.

At the office, gas distribution is limited each day from morning until 2 p.m., and long queues of consumers have become a common sight. As customers continue to voice grievances over the lack of gas, Nepal Gas Company officials have attributed the problem to ongoing transportation issues, saying the situation remains unresolved.
