Kaski — Two league-stage matches are scheduled today in the ongoing SAFF Women’s Under-19 Championship at the Pokhara International Football Stadium.

The first match will see Bangladesh take on India at 12 noon. Hosts Nepal will face Bhutan at 3 p.m.

Both Nepal and Bhutan suffered defeats in their opening matches. Nepal were narrowly beaten 1–0 by India, while Bhutan endured a heavy 12–0 loss to Bangladesh in the tournament’s opening game.

As a result, both teams will be under pressure in their second outing. Today’s match is crucial for each side to keep their hopes of reaching the final alive.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh and India have each secured one win and collected three points apiece. Only four teams are participating in this edition of the tournament.

The championship is being organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) in coordination with the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) and is being played under a round-robin league format, where each team faces every other team once.

Following the league stage, the top two teams will compete for the title in the final on Magh 24, according to SAFF General Secretary Purushottam Kattel.
