Oli Returns to Home District Jhapa for First Time Since Gen Z Protests

Jhapa — Communist  Party of Nepal – Unified Marxist Leninist  Chair K.P. Sharma Oli has arrived in his home district of Jhapa for the first time since the Gen Z movement.

On Monday, he landed in Jhapa aboard a Yeti Airlines flight. This marks his first district visit after the government lifted the travel restriction (ban on leaving the Kathmandu Valley) that had been imposed on him after Gen Z protests.

Oli had been confined to the Kathmandu Valley for a long time due to the government’s restrictions. With the ban lifted and election activity intensifying, local leaders and party workers welcomed him upon his arrival in Jhapa.

From the airport, he proceeded directly toward Damak to meet with party supporters and prepare for election activities.

Chairman Oli is in Jhapa to file his candidacy for the upcoming House of Representatives election and to give electoral directives to party workers.

The CPN (UML) has already decided to field him as its candidate for the House of Representatives from Jhapa Constituency No. 5.

Participating in various events in his electoral area, he will formally launch his election campaign.
