Congress Establishment Takes Disciplinary Action Against Gagan and Bishwa for 5 Years

Kathmandu — The establishment faction of the Nepali Congress has taken disciplinary action against General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma for five years.

At a central working committee meeting held in Saneepa, it was stated that they were disciplined for calling a special general convention against the party’s decision.

For the special general convention organized by the two general secretaries, a voting schedule was published for Wednesday, with voting set from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. According to the announcement, the Congress central working committee has imposed a five‑year sanction on Thapa and Sharma.

The meeting at the party office in Saneepa decided to suspend them such that they will not even remain ordinary members, saying they acted against party policy.

The Congress meeting also disciplined co‑General Secretary Farmullah Mansur.
