Nepali Congress Special Convention Advances Leadership Vote; Election Timeline Unveiled

Kathmandu — The Nepali Congress is advancing the process to elect new leadership through its special general convention, with the party’s election schedule officially released on Tuesday.

Senior Advocate Sitaram KC, coordinator of the Election Committee, unveiled the timetable for the electoral process. According to the schedule, the voting will take place at 9 p.m. today.

Under the timetable, the preliminary voters’ list will be published at 12:30 p.m., followed by a period for claims, objections and discussion until 1:30 p.m. The final voters’ list will then be released at 4 p.m., and the final list of candidates will be made public at 8:45 p.m. ahead of the evening vote.

The five-member Election Committee made the decision to move forward with the process. Earlier, the previous committee led by Khamb Bahadur Khati was dissolved, and a new panel under Sitaram KC was formed Tuesday morning.
