Deadline today to submit closed list of proportional candidates

Kathmandu — Today is the final day to submit the closed lists of proportional-representation candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.

According to the election schedule, political parties were given time starting Sunday to submit the closed lists. The Election Commission had set the date of Poush 13 and 14 for submission, so all major political parties must submit their proportional candidate lists to the Commission within office hours today. Some parties had already submitted their lists on Sunday.

Currently, major parties such as the Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), Nepal Communist Party, and Rastriya Swatantra Party are engaged in internal discussions and groundwork to finalize their lists.

The Election Commission has urged parties to follow the legal procedures and inclusive cluster requirements when preparing their closed lists.

Once the lists are submitted to the Commission, parties are permitted to publish them publicly for citizen awareness, as affirmed by the Election Commission.
