Prez Poudel intervenes, Hosts PM Karki and her political opponents, But will they come together on March 5 Poll ?

 Kathmandu -In what appears like an ice breaking exercise, k P Sharma Oli  today sat face to face with Prime Minister Sushila Karki and two other former Prime Ministers in deference to the initiative taken by President Ram Chandra Poudel.

Although individual participants collectively or individually have not said anything about the meeeting, president’s office said ‘ All have agreed to create an environment to complete the election scheduled for Falgun 21.( March 5).

President’s Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel confirmed that Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Communist Party Coordinator and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal reached a consensus during their discussions.

According to him, there is also an understanding to hold detailed discussions to create an election-friendly environment

“In the serious and sensitive situation facing the country, the election has been announced to find a way out. Keeping this seriousness in mind, making the election successful is our only shared responsibility’’ President Poudel is believed to have stated.

This is the first meeting in which PM Karki , Oli and Deuba have sat together after Oli’s resignation in the wake of Gen z protest and large scale killing on September 9 .

It is still not known whether Oli and Deuba who have collected signatures of UML and NC members of the dissolved parliament , will back out from their political and legal fight seeking dismissal of the karki government and reinstatement of the parliament.
