UML election update: Fierce competition for office-bearer posts, Oli holds a wide lead for chairman

Kathmandu — The preliminary vote results from the leadership election held under the ongoing CPN-UML 10th General Convention have been released. According to the latest available details, there is interesting competition from the chairman down to secretary positions.

Chairman and Vice-Chairman: Oli with a wide lead
For the chairman post, KP Sharma Oli has taken an early lead with 156 votes, while the other candidate, Ishwor Pokharel, has received 67 votes.

In the vice-chairman race, there is a close contest between Vishnu Prasad Paudel (173) and Prithvi Subba Gurung (171). Also, Rambahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ (153), Gokarna Bista (133), and Raghuji Pant (123) have secured strong vote counts.

General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary situation
In the general secretary race, Shankar Pokharel is ahead with 115 votes, followed by Surendra Pandey with 108 votes.

For deputy general secretary, Lekhjraj Bhatt (147) and Yogesh Bhattarai (140) are leading, while Raghuvir Mahaseth has 126 and Vishnu Rimal has 105 votes.
