UML Voting from 4 PM; Electronic Voting to Be Used

Kathmandu — To elect the leadership of the Communist Party of Nepal -Unified Marxist Leninist , voting will be held from 4 PM on Tuesday afternoon at the closed session hall in Bhrikutimandap using electronic machines.

A total of 2,263 delegates from across the country are participating in the UML’s 11th General Convention. The convention will elect 19 office-bearers, 301 central members, and central body officials, totaling 351 new leaders.

More than seven hundred candidates, including those supporting Chair KP Sharma Oli and Senior Vice-Chair Ishwor Pokharel, are contesting. Eighty voting machines have been placed at the polling site.

Officials of the election committee said that since voting is expected to continue until tomorrow morning, the results will only be available on Wednesday.
